Invincible Universe: Battle Beast Vol. 2 – The Emissary

Description

Invincible Universe: Battle Beast Vol. 2 – The Emissary is the second volume of the series that grew out of the pages of Invincible and the hit Prime Video animated series. This edition is the Direct Market Exclusive version, featuring a cover by Ryan Ottley and Annalisa Leoni.

The galaxy's deadliest warrior craves a battle so intense that only death could satisfy that thirst – but no one has ever managed to kill Battle Beast. And certainly not for lack of trying.

Will Battle Beast tear the Titans of Fantannia to shreds? Or will the visitors from a distant empire be the ones to finally finish him off? The second half of this volume features a massive showdown with the Viltrumite Conquest: one of the most impressive and lengthy fight sequences in the entire Invincible universe, drawn with Ryan Ottley at his best.

Kirkman writes Battle Beast exactly as he shines best – without excessive psychologizing, as the personification of raw power and pure combat. The series is self-contained: knowing Invincible is not necessary, though fans will certainly encounter plenty of familiar faces here.

Why read it?

• Six issues in one volume (#7–12) – a complete story arc.
• Direct Market Exclusive cover – by Ryan Ottley and Annalisa Leoni, available only through comic book stores.
• Story by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead, Invincible, Skinbreaker).
• Art by Ryan Ottley (Invincible, Amazing Spider-Man), colors by Annalisa Leoni (Oblivion Song, Star Wars: The High Republic), lettering by Rus Wooton.

• Direct connection to the Prime Video series – Battle Beast and Conquest have already appeared on screen.
• A great entry point: a standalone story for those who want the Invincible world without the commitment of the main series.
